Product Description

Now available on the Hogrefe Testsystem (HTS 5), the MDQ-R is a is a self-report personality measure that explores both management and leadership capabilities, as well as the emotional intelligence competencies that underpin effectiveness in each. An impression management scale is also included. Results can be combined to provide an overall profile of a test taker’s strengths and areas for development and can also be broken down from the perspective of management vs. leadership:

The management competency scales measure the capabilities required to administer processes and systems efficiently and deliver products and services reliably.

The leadership competency scales measure the capabilities needed to lead major change successfully and take an organisation into the future.


Competencies measured by the MDQ-R

The MDQ-R framework assesses 20 individual competencies across seven higher-order competency factors. Three of these factors are elements of management, and three are elements of leadership. The emotional intelligence competencies underpin both management and leadership effectiveness.

The MDQ-R’s competency factors:

The questionnaire comprises 168 short behavioural statements that the test taker must rate on a scale. A new and improved report then provides a substantial foundation for development conversations and includes practical features for encouraging real change.

The assessment is untimed and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.
